The United Kingdom's iTunes Festival has just added some new attractions for the September 1 - 30 musical event. Elton John, Robin Thicke, Arctic Monkeys and the Pixies have joined to long list of performers that also includes Kings of Leon, Justin Timberlake, Sigur Ros, Paramore, Queens of the Stone Age and Vampire Weekend. The festival, which was launched in 2007, used to take place in July but has since moved to September starting in 2012. Tickets for this incredible event are organized in a lottery system and these special performances will also be available for viewing via online streaming.

"This year's iTunes Festival is the best ever with an incredible lineup of global superstars and stellar emerging artists," said Eddie Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. "Music fans around the world are going to love watching this incredible month of music, whether in London at the Roundhouse or on their iOS device. We're honored so many renowned artists are part of this year's lineup."

Clearly Apple is happy about the event, but what do the acts have to say about performing?

"We're looking forward to performing at the Roundhouse and excited to be playing songs from our new LP," Arctic Monkeys stated. The indie rock band has a new album coming out this year entitled AM.

"We're all big Mac fans, so we're particularly excited to be performing at the iTunes Festival in London," said the Pixies' Joey Santiago. The Pixies just released a new track "Bagboy," which was their first new song in nearly a decade.

This free concert series will include over 60 acts with performances taking place every night throughout September at the Roundhouse venue in London, England.
