Community Season 5: Donald Glover aka Troy Barnes Not Returning Full-Time

Donald Glover will reportedly not return in a full-time capacity as Troy Barnes for Season 5 of NBC's "Community," according to Vulture.

The site has learned from sources close to the situation that Glover's representatives and Sony Pictures Television (which produces "Community") have negotiated a deal that would allow him to appear in just five episodes of the upcoming 13-episode season.

"The studio probably could have insisted on Glover committing to all thirteen half-hour episodes (or more, if NBC ordered them), but as often happens in Hollywood, both camps found a way to compromise," according to Vulture.

The move allows Glover to focus on his musical career under his stage name, Childish Gambino. Sony wins, too, because they do not have pay Glover for all 13 episodes of the show.

Vulture could not reach Glover's and Sony's respective representatives were not available for comment.

It's unclear how Abed Nadir, Troy's bromance partner, will handle the reduction in Glover's schedule.
