Pitchfork Debuts New Film Review Website 'The Dissolve'

Have you ever wanted your movie views to be a bit...wordier? Good news, y'all. Pitchfork just launched a movie review site! It's called The Dissolve and it actually looks really nice.

The layout of the site is beautiful, very magazine-like, and I particularly like the parallax scrolling effect that happens when you reach the comment section. I'd love it if the whole site eventually incorporates this effect (Pitchfork's done this before. Check their cover story on Daft Punk).

Interestingly, The Dissolve uses a traditional star system to rank movies as opposed to Pitchfork's oft-lamented 0.0-10.0 ranking system.

The site is already well-populated with reviews and thinkpieces accessible via a beautiful side-nav. Check out this review of Pacific Rim that ends with a Sharknado quality tag:

"Giant robots. Killer monsters. Wrestlin' picture. Whaddaya need, a road map?"
