The 50th anniversary special of BBC's iconic series Doctor Who airs on November 23, 2013, and there are countless questions surrounding it. What's the deal with John Hurt's Doctor character? How do Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) and Ten (David Tennant) fit into the story? How will the scenes with Tennant and current Doctor Matt Smith work? There are plenty more questions but luckily it looks like the special will be long enough to answer most, if not all, of them!

"I think you could call it movie-length, yeah," showrunner Steven Moffat said. "I mean, I'm saying that with a slight hint of vagueness because I don't know the finished running time. It's certainly well over an hour."

Moffat also shared some insight on how Tennant and Smith are getting along on set, which is a good indicator for how they will appear in the special!

"They're quite a fun pairing, I would say," he said. "There's a bit of the normal joshing of each other but they're both such enthusiastic Doctors. While they might be sort of competing slightly, they're both standing there saying, 'Oh god, it's so cool, there's two of me!' So, it's very different. I think the other one that worked brilliantly was Jon Pertwee and Patrick Troughton. They were incredibly funny together. This is very different from that but it's a sublime double act."

"They really loved each other and had a huge laugh together," Moffat added. "And of course they've been through this experience that only the two of them can talk about, really, in the modern world. They are the two people that have played that part at a time when the series is this big. They spent the entire time just sitting together talking animatedly."

Also, a costume designer working on the special recently answered another question about John Hurt's character: "He is a past Doctor, not a future Doctor."

So there you have it! Some questions answered but more to come, surely. For now, enjoy this behind-the-scenes interview with David Tennant and Matt Smith on the set of the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who:
