Cory Monteith Dead: Lea Michele Was Engaged To GLEE Actor Before Overdose? Couple Planned On Moving In With Each Other
Cory Monteith sudden death has shook fans and friends of the actor around the world. The 31-year-old actor was getting ready to move in with his girlfriend Lea Michele ad start filming Season 5 of the hit show GLEE before his untimely death.
According to RadarOnline, a source close to the star was with him hours before his death at the Portside bar in East Vancouver Friday night, "He wasn't drinking when we were with him," the source added that the celebrity wasn't on drugs or under the influence, "He seemed really happy and healthy when I saw him."
The close source continued, "[I'd be] extremely surprised [if it turned out he was on drugs that night]," the source says. "He wasn't super talkative or misty eyed. Just normal. Catching up, chatting, and then on his way. Everyone expected to be seeing him again shortly, so it wasn't a big night ... It was friends getting together chatting about things that have been going on in their lives."
Before his death Cory had been dating co-star, Lea Michele and discussed with his friends that he planned on living with his girlfriend soon, "We talked about him moving in with Lea and that was really it," the source reveals. "He adores her."
Lea stood beside Cory while he entered rehab for his substance abuse and the couple seemed stronger than ever once he was out. The death of the GLEE star happened over the weekend in his Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel room. The 31-year-old was found dead after he missed his checkout time.
Monteith's rep released a statement saying, "We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss."
GLEE co-star and girlfriend, Lea Michele rep had released a statement on her behalf saying, "We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea's privacy during this devastating time."
