Robin Thicke 'Blurred Lines,' Vampire Weekend Cover [LISTEN]: 'Diane Young' Band Makes Indie Version of 2013 Summer Hit

Robin Thicke's song "Blurred Lines" is easily one of the best hits of this summer and Vampire Weekend's "Diane Young" also falls under that category. So when Vampire Weekend decided to cover "Blurred Lines," it made complete sense! The result is an interesting version of the song that sounds more stripped and organic as opposed to Thicke's over-produced, original pop version. If anything, it is definitely fun!

What did you think of Vampire Weekend's version?

Thicke's song has received plenty of press after a Daily Beast article said that it was a bit "rape-y." Here is what the article stated:

"The subject [of the song] itself is enough to make some female music fans uncomfortable. The song is about how a girl wants crazy wild sex but doesn't say it - positing that age-old problem where men think no means yes into a catchy, hummable song."

Thicke responded to this allegation, denying that the song had anything to do with rape.

"I can't dignify that with a response," Thicke said. "That's ridiculous ... For me, it was about blurring the lines between men and women, and how much we're the same. My wife is as strong as I am, if not smarter and stronger. And she's an animal too, and she doesn't need a man to define her. The song is really about women are everything that a man is, and can do anything a man can do."

The music video for the song was pretty controversial, too.
