On Saturday night, Jay Z and wife Beyonce attended the New York City "Justice for Trayvon Martin" rally with Reverend Al Sharpton. The night before at Yankees Stadium, the rapper and his "Legends of Summer" tour co-headliner Justin Timberlake closed out their concert by dedicating the song "Forever Young" to the slain Florida teenager.

"Let's light the sky for Trayvon Martin tonight in here," Jay Z said to the crowd.

The night after this dedication in response to the George Zimmerman murder trial verdict, Jay and his wife, singer Beyonce, took part in the "Justice for Trayvon Martin" rally with Reverend Al Sharpton in New York City.

"Jay Z told me, 'I'm a father. Beyonce is a mother,' Sharpton said to the crowd according to the Huffington Post. "We all feel the pain and apprehension -- the laws must protect everybody, or it doesn't protect anybody. We do not come from hate, we come from love of children."

"Jay Z and Beyonce said they didn't want to speak and they didn't come for a photo op," Sharpton said to the crowd. "Beyonce put a beautiful message up on Instagram. Let me tell you, that before a lot of you were down, Jay Z always supported us."

Other artists who have spoken out on the not guilty verdict include singer Bruce Springsteen, who dedicated his song "American Skin (41 Shots)" to Martin at a recent show in Ireland, and musician Stevie Wonder, who announced that he will no longer perform in the state of Florida until it changes its Stand Your Ground laws.
