WATCH Franz Ferdinand Storm Ed Sullivan Theatre, Debut New Album Songs "Evil Eye," "Bullet" and More Following Letterman Performance [STREAM]

The Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York got a little taste of Scotland last night, when indie rock group Franz Ferdinand rocked the legendary stage with a 48-minute concert promoting their upcoming fourth studio album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.

Simply walking from the back of the theatre like any regular Joes, Franz Ferdinand lead singer Alex Kapranos was a man of few words before delving right in to the music. FF opened with "Right Action," the lead single off their new album 2013. Though the band remained largely stationary for the song, that doesn't mean the performance wasn't jam packed with energy and stellar musicianship.

Franz Ferdinand then backed all the way up in their discography, playing "Tell Her Tonight" from their 2004 record Franz Ferdinand. The jangly, upbeat track sounded as good as ever, proving they still got it after 10 years.

A new song was debuted at the Ed Sullivan Theatre, "Stand on the Horizon." Opening with a soft, acoustic melody and light singing from Kapranos, the song picks up intensity in the chorus in the way only Franz Ferdinand can and quickly becomes an upbeat indie stomper. The momentum built from the first chorus carries through the rest of the track, creating a fun and interesting melody.

"Evil Eye" is a creeping stomper reminiscent of Franz Ferdinand's harder melodies. The "Evil Eye" name is quite fitting. The winding guitar riffs and keyboard effects make this track sound like any Halloween party.

"Bullet" is a racing track, with guitar shredding faster than anything heard from Franz Ferdinand to date.

Franz Ferdinand also played hits "No You Boys," "Dark of The Matinee" and "Take Me Out," among others.

Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action will be released Aug. 27. It is the follow-up to Franz Ferdinand's ode to clubbing, 2009's Tonight: Franz Ferdinand.
