Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special 2013 Trailer [PHOTO & VIDEO]: Whovians Angry BBC Not Releasing Comic Con Exclusive Footage, New Clips Promised
Although Comic Con 2013 was a huge hit in terms of revealing more details for the 50th anniversary special of BBC's "Doctor Who," fans who were not in attendance for the show's panel are irate over not being able to see the trailer for the special. In fact, it looks like it might be a while before it is available online, according to the BBC. Plus, the British show premiered the trailer in San Diego, so U.K. fans are very mad! Whovians are clearly not too happy and have expressed their anger on Twitter.
"I don't understand!," one fan tweeted. "This is a UK show and we don't get to look first? How is that right or justifiable?"
"They don't care about their UK fans any more," another lamented, "it's all about making it big in the US."
Over on Facebook, one fan said: "No offence to American fans, but this is a British show... The least we can get is a trailer when we are the ones who pay the license fee!"
So the panel crowd at Comic Con was extremely lucky, it seems. According to the BBC: "This was an exclusive Comic Con trailer made especially for the Doctor Who 50th panel."
The network also said, "UK fans can look forward to exclusive content over the next few months," so it might work out in a way.
Though we don't get to see the trailer, we did find out some interesting updates from the panel.
For one, it looks like David Tennant, Matt Smith and John Hurt will be facing off against the Doctor's most dangerous enemy: the Daleks.
The footage also revealed that this special will take place during the "Time War," which explains how John Hurt's character did some unspeakable things.
