'Friends' Movie Happening? [RUMORS]: Lisa Kudrow Discusses Film Version of Hit Television Show in Interview

Lisa Kudrow made a name for herself by playing Phoebe Buffay on the hit '90s sitcom "Friends," but she's fairly sure that she won't be making a "Comeback" (see what we did there?) appearance as the character in a film version. During an interview with CNN, the actress addressed a well-planned rumor from earlier in 2013 involving professional graphics. It was enough to make Kudrow worried that she hadn't been invited back for the shoot.

"Well, I knew there wasn't ever a movie. There was never a "Friends" movie. Ever. So I've always known it's not happening," she said. "But with this last rumor someone came up with a great graphic with the couch and it looked like a real teaser and I went, 'Wait!' And then someone came up with a fake story and got some publication to buy the lie that there was going to be a reunion, so I saw on Twitter people were posting this article that NBC was really going to do it. And I went, 'Wait a minute, was I not invited? Oh my God, maybe there is one and I wasn't asked to do it.' I even had a moment where I believed it because everything around it looked real. It was a good setup."

Now Kudrow is more than convinced that a movie isn't happening, noting that both the creators of the show and NBC have made statements establishing that there are no plans for a "Friends" film. Still, she acknowledged that some fans will never come to terms with it, and rumors will persist.

For now, Kudrow stars in "Web Therapy," a television series formatted entirely in Skype chats. The actress plays the show's protagonist, a flighty therapist with numerous celebrity clients. Two of her "Friends" co-stars, Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer, have appeared as guests.
