Katy Perry Killer Queen Perfume Advertisement: 'Firework' Singer Looks Positively Regal in New Fragrance Ad [PHOTO]
Pop star, fashionista and eater of low calories potato chips Katy Perry has released a new ad for her latest fragrance, Killer Queen. The pop princess is richly royal in the new photo, which was unveiled on her new fragrance Facebook fan page.
Donning a red bustier and spikey leather wrap boots, Perry holds a golden staff featuring the perfume bottle at the top and a queen's crown cocked to the side. The throne upon which Perry sits is thrown to the side, along with a king's crown. The phrase "Own the throne" is written across Perry's legs, giving the star total dominance in the advertisement.
Killer Queen, initially announced late last week, is apparently a departure from Perry's other two scents, Meow and Purr. Its scent is described as a blend of white florals, fruity, woody, sweet and musky essences.
The name of the perfume and the Queen song of the same name are not just a coincidence. In a press release, Perry said, "Killer Queen has been in my vocabulary since I was 15 because of the song 'Killer Queen' by Queen. Freddie Mercury painted the lyrics of this woman who I wanted to be. She seemed very powerful, and she captivated a room when she walked in."
The essence of "Killer Queen" is clearly seen in advertisement.
Killer Queen comes in a drop ruby shaped bottle with a light gold crown for a cap. Each bottle comes with its own golden pedestal.
It's unknown when the eau de parfum will be released, but it will come in four sizes, a body lotion and shower gel.
