Battlecat Hospitalized: Legendary Hip-Hop Producer Suffers Heart Attack, Brother Posts Hospital PHOTO
West Coast producer Battlecat aka BC Powda has reportedly been hospitalized after suffering a heart attack. DubCNN.com is reporting that the LA producer, who has worked with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Faith Evans, Domino, The Game and others, was brought into the hospital on Thursday after suffering a heart attack. Right now, the details are few and far between; however, there are various reports that Battlecat, real name Kevin Gilliam, indeed has suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized on Thursday. The latest is that Battlecat is doing much better.
Initial reports were that the producer was in serious condition, but it looks like the latest is that Battlecat is in much better spirits. Battlecat's brother, rapper Michael "Mykestro" Gilliam, posted the below photo of himself and Battlecat in the hospital. As you can see by the photo, the legendary producer seems to be doing much better.
In addition, on Twitter, DJ Mark Luv tweeted, ""Good News, Kevin "Battlecat" Gilliam is resting. He's in good condition." Snoop Dogg also tweeted early Friday morning, "We prayn for u battlecat." A number of rapers and hip-hop artists tweeted out support to the legendary producer.
Battlecat is from Long Beach, California and is a highly successful and respected hip-hop producer. Obviously working with the likes of Snoop Dogg and The Game puts him in good company.
