'Arrested Development' Movie News: The Bluth's Are 'Definitely' Coming Back According to Mitch Hurwtiz, Netflix Season 5 or Big Screen Comeback?

Arrested Development's debut season on Netflix got mixed reviews, but it certainly wasn't lacking in media attention. The return of the Bluth's to TV was huge news for the television industry, Netflix, and fans. Now, word is that not only will Arrested Development be returning, but also rumors are that the Bluth's could be returning to the big screen as a movie. Could it be that Arrested Development will return for another season on Netflix and also air as a movie? Maybe, but it sounds like for now, it may be one or the other. Series creator Mitch Hurwitz basically confirmed as much while doing a Q&A session at Montreal's Just For Laughs festival.

Chortle reports that when Hurwtiz was asked during the question and answer panel if Arrested Development would be coming back, Hurwitz replied with a "definitely." Hurwitz continued by saying, "I don't want to get into a whole negotiation right now... but I've got a family to feed."

Hurwitz then talked about whether or not the show would return as a series or on the big screen. "I keep thinking about it, and why don't we do the movie version of this and then do the series, because this series kinda peaks with the story?" Hurwitz explained. According to Chortle, Hurwitz explained that a movie is a little trickier because 20th Century Fox owns the property. However, we all know with movie studios, if there is money to be made, it can get done.

Maybe even more important than Hurwtiz's opinion is that of Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos, who also said during the Just For Laughs Q&A that he would be game for another season of Arrested Development. Get ready Bluth's fans, because it looks like we'll be seeing more family craziness soon enough!
