Miley Cyrus 'We Can't Stop' Breaks VEVO Records, Twerking-Heavy Video Takes Spot Held By Eminem
The unhinged masterpiece/ piece of video evidence of the decline of Western Civilization that is "We Can't Stop" apparently struck a chord with a lot of folks. Miley Cyrus' hard-partying latest has officially twerked its way into the record books, becoming the fastest video to reach 100 million views on VEVO ( a title previously held by Eminem and Rihanna's "Love The Way You Lie.")
According to Billboard, "We Can't Stop" took 37 days to garner 100 million views and reach certified status. "Love The Way You Lie" took 39 days. The song's first 24 hours of Internet existence netted 10.7 million views, a short-lived record that was toppled by One Direction's "Best Song Ever" (10.9M).
Despite the College Humor surrealist nightmare that is the video sans music, "We Can't Stop" continues to dominate the streaming charts and recently moved up to the number 2 spot on Billboard's Hot 100.
The song is Cyrus' biggest success since "Party In The USA" and will be featured on her as-yet-untitled album which drops later this year.
