Katy Perry & John Mayer Back Together? 'Prism' 2013 [PHOTO]: Former Couple 'Doing a Lot of Collaborating' on New Album, Release Date on Gold Truck
Earlier this week, "Firework" songstress Katy Perry revealed the name of her upcoming album and the release date on the side of a gold tractor-trailer truck. Prism will be released on October 22, 2013, and after a suspicious Tumblr post by Perry's former flame John Mayer, it looks like the "Daughters" crooner will be appearing on the album in some form of collaboration, too.
Check out this screen-grab from John Mayer's Tumblr account, and maybe we can all read too much into it together!
As you can see, it is a simple photo of Perry's promotional truck with the title of her album and the release date, but why would Mayer post this picture on his personal blog?
Before you start assuming the former couple is back together, some reports are confirming that Mayer was a collaborator on the new album.
According to a brief interview with Extra at the Smurfs 2 premiere, Mayer will most likely be featured on Perry's new album.
Perry said (with a wink), "We're doing a lot of collaborating."
That wink definitely makes this seem like the two could be rekindling their romance, but that is another story altogether.
Perry recently opened up to Elle U.K. about her split with Mayer:
"He pulled away. That was a big hello for me. I realized I could lose the person I loved and I had to deal with some things, issues I think a lot of women have. You can be strong in one aspect of your life but submissive in another...The men I have gone for are challenging, yes, but they're also wildly intelligent and poetic. I'm not interested in taming anyone. I'm pretty wild myself."
