Vanessa Hudgens Tumblr: 'Spring Breakers' Star Takes A Turn for The Artistic With Dali Recreations [PHOTO]
Vanessa Hudgens has already gained renown for her roles in the visual arts, including "High School Musical" and "Spring Breakers." Okay, she's gained renown for her roles in popcorn movies, but the actress is branching out into painting, and based on the photos she posted on her Tumblr account, Salvador Dalí.
Or at least, the paintings she showed off were handmade knockoffs of the famed Spanish surrealist.
The images show two paintings hanging in Hudgens's Brooklyn apartment, both of which are exact replicas of Dalí's famous "The Persistence of Memory" painting, better known as "the painting with the clocks melting on trees."
"Yep. I painted that. #MADskills lol. Painting is sooo much fun," Hudgens typed as a caption, adding in a second descriptor "And now we got two Dalis hangin in this b----! #ballin."
We have seen much, much worse, especially from people trying to make Dalí's absurd talent look easy. Or more absurd (from "Star Wars" fans). Hudgens certainly has room for improvement (those clocks are supposed to be flat, not two dimensional!), but she's off to a good start.
If there's anything we'd like to see, it would be a little more creativity. Okay, you're a Dalí fan, that's cool. But why paint two of the exact same thing and hang them at different places in the home? How about trying some other paintings from the same artist? Our favorite's include "Crucifixion (Corpus Hypercubus)," or less religious, some of the other more interesting stuff he did.
The sky's the limit Vanessa, and we only want to encourage you to reach for it.
