X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer took to Twitter on Thursday to post a picture of a giant model of a robotic Sentinel, the villainous machines that will plague the X-Men in the upcoming film.

As Mstars previously reported, A viral marketing site for X-Men: Days of Future Past recently came online and offers some insight into the Bolivar Trask and the Sentinels, the presumed main villains in the superhero film.

Peter Dinklage of "Game of Thrones" fame will portray Bolivar Trask, the leader of Trask Industries who creates robotic Sentinels to hunt down and destroy mutants.

Here's some of the background information from Trask-Industries.com:

"In 1973, Trask Industries introduced the first Sentinel production model, the Mark I. Bolivar Trask's groundbreaking research in AI, robotics and autonomous ballistic systems laid the foundation for the world's most capable anti-mutant defense system. Since the program's inception, we've continued to advance our founder's cause through eight additional generational upgrades and enhancements.

As we celebrate five decades of achievement, we also bid farewell to regular production of the Mark I and shift our efforts to full-time manufacturing of the Mark X - our first complete overhaul of the Sentinel line. These highly anticipated units will combine next-generation nanotechnology and bioweapon breakthroughs, promising an even brighter future for the human race."

The above quotes contain some interesting information. Firstly, the 1973 date references the "past" portion of Days of Future Past. The events surrounding the X-Men: First Class crew in the upcoming movie will take place at or around that time, so it seems the Sentinels would be involved.

A timeline on the site also details the announcement of the Sentinel Mark X Program in 2020, which could provide an indication of the timeframe of the "future" portion of Days of Future Past.

Furthermore, the Mark X Sentinels will have an "inhibitor collar" and a "mutant detection device," which would be bad news for the X-Men.
