Taylor Swift, Harry Styles Romance 2013: Break Ups & 'Mad Love' Subject of New Album, 'Red' Songstress Does Not Regret Dating One Direction Ex-Boyfriend
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles broke up at the end of 2012, yet fans of both singers still love to talk about the former couple. Both have apparently moved on, though, and it looks like Swift has at least been using the reported heartbreak in the songwriting process of her new album. Admitting that falling in and out of love is good material for song, Swift does not regret her relationship with Styles since it will most likely lead to hit songs!
"I am getting to a point where the only love worth being in is the love worth singing about," Swift said. "And kind of mad love. I think that for me, when you experience something that's worth writing a song about, chances are it's the same kind of intense feeling that someone else has felt, and it has led them to be sitting on a bedroom floor crying, or walking through a crowded room feeling alone or feeling misunderstood by the person who's supposed to know them better than anybody else."
Swift added: "Those are things that make you feel really alone, and if someone's singing a song about that feeling, then you feel bonded to that person, and I guess that's the only way I can find an explanation why 55,000 people would want to come see me sing."
"I think when you're heartbroken you need music more than when you're not," the 23-year-old singer said in another recent interview. "There's something so beautiful about people who are heartbroken; they think about things much more."
"When you're in love and you're happy you don't need to think; it's just there," she explained. "Love is one of those things that's so simple, you only need to think about it when it's bad. When you write a song about what you're thinking... there's such a gratification and it helps you move on."
So "mad love" can lead to good songs that connect with fans, but is the pop star still hoping for a new romance any time soon?
"All of her short romances are fun and she feels special, but she's ready for something deeper and that won't end up as a national punch line," an insider reveled. "But that seems to be impossible with her touring schedule. That said, she's a strong working woman and that will never change for her."
