Breaking Bad Season 5 SPOILERS: Bryan Cranston Talks Final Eight Episodes, Series Finale on ‘The Colbert Report’ [VIDEO]

Bryan Cranston, who portrays Walter White/Heisenberg on the AMC smash hit "Breaking Bad," appeared on "The Colbert Report" on Thursday night to talk about the final season of the show.

Cranston cracked several jokes throughout the interview, including the origin of Walter White and the reason for his numerous on-screen appearances in tighty-whities.

"Basically, it comes down to this: At some point, you have to give the public what they want," Cranston quipped.

Colbert then joked that he already knows the ending, and Cranston responded, "So you already know that Jesse Pinkman had a sex change operation?"

Cranston also joked that one of his first jobs in show business, a gig recording voice-overs for villains in the "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" show, was "the birth of Heisenberg right there."

On a more serious note, the actor described "Breaking Bad" as "the greatest professional experience of (his) life." He also offered, in typical fashion, as non-spoiler of a spoiler as he could about the season finale.

"The ending is actually very satisfying to 'Breaking Bad' fans," Cranston said. "It's unapologetic, it's very 'Breaking Bad.' We hug, we kiss, we forgive each other, we sing 'Kumbaya.'"

The final eight episodes of "Breaking Bad" premiere on AMC on Sunday, Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT.
