'Glee' Season 5 Spoilers: Teaser Trailer [VIDEO] More Details About Cory Monteith Memorial Episode Revealed
Season 5 of "Glee" is just around the corner with the season premiere set for September 26. The season 5 teaser trailer is out and you can check out the video below. Show creator Ryan Murphy also gave more details as to how the show will deal with the tragic death of Cory Monteith. Fans already know that the topic will be approached with Finn's character in season 5, but now a little more has been revealed about Finn's final episode.
The "Glee" season 5 teaser trailer has no mention or sight of Cory Monteith's character Finn. In fact, the trailer is pretty upbeat and Glee-like. "Once again with feeling, once again with drama, once again with passion. Are you ready to go once again?" the trailer asks.
Meanwhile, Murphy talked with Deadline more about how the show will be writing Finn off the show, deciding against writing him off via an accidental drug overdose. "We have decided that we're not going to have him pass from that," Murphy said. "Basically, what we're doing in the episode is we are not telling you yet, or maybe not at all, how that character died. The idea being, how somebody died is interesting and maybe morbid, but we say very early on in the episode, 'This episode is about a celebration of that character's life.' That might be weird for some people, but it felt really exploitative to do it any other way."
Cory Monteith's final episode reportedly got the green light from Monteith's real life girlfriend Leah Michele who is also helping write the episode. Murphy told Deadline that the cast are going to start filming Monteith's memorial episode over the next few days. "I think it turned out to be a lovely tribute, and it's a very heartfelt look at how young people grieve," Murphy said. "After that, we're going to take two weeks or three weeks down to get our heads together because it's been a really hard thing to write."
