Demi Lovato 'Glee' Casting RUMORS: 'X Factor' Judge to Appear on Musical Show's Fifth Season? Character 'Dani' Will Perform Frequently with Guest Star Adam Lambert
Rumors are swirling that "The X Factor" won't be Demi Lovato's only appearance on Fox this fall. According to TV Line, the singer/actress is set to join the cast of "Glee" in a six-episode arc for the show's upcoming fifth season.
TV Line reported that Lovato is set to play Dani, a friend of Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera) and a struggling New York City artist. She's also set to interact "frequently" with fellow guest star Adam Lambert's character. The two reality stars and singers will have several musical numbers together, in the spirit of "Glee."
Lovato is reported to make her first "Glee" appearance on Oct. 3, during the season's second episode and second Beatles tribute.
Though the news has yet to be officially announced by Fox or Lovato, the deal seems pretty much done. Today (Aug. 19), Lovato's soon-to-be co-star Lambert tweeted at her, saying, "I just heard the news! Excited to sing w you girl!"

Though she's better known for her music these days, "Glee" will be nowhere near Lovato's first acting gig. She appeared in the Disney Channel movies "Camp Rock" and "Camp Rock 2" with the Jonas Brothers and had her own sitcom on the family-friendly channel, "Sonny With A Chance" from 2009 to 2011.
Lovato's appearance on "Glee" is sure to please higher-ups on Fox. "The X Factor" results shows air on Thursday nights right before "Glee," so Lovatics are highly likely to tune into the channel to watch two hours full of their favorite singer.
Though she's not slated to appear in the first episode, the fifth season of "Glee" will kick off Sept. 6.
