'NSYNC Reunion at 2013 MTV VMAs? Lance Bass Addresses Rumors on Sirius XM Radio Show, Doesn't Deny 'Pop' Band will Make Appearance [LISTEN]
Yesterday, the Internet exploded with excitement at the news of a possible 'NSYNC reunion at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Page Six of the New York Post reported that sources said the "Bye Bye Bye" band would come together to say "Hi Hi Hi" at the Aug. 25 ceremony and help celebrate former member Justin Timberlake's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
Amidst the rumors and the excitement from fans who are anxious to see the boy band for the first time in over 10 years, former member Lance Bass addressed the reunion rumors on his Sirius XM radio show, Dirty Pop.
"Well, let me tell you about how all this came about," he said in reference to the 'NSYNC rumors. "Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards. So of course, people are automatically going to think that's we're going to be there performing... and this is exactly how it happened, I knew these rumors were going to fly."
Bass then explained that Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick (JC Chasez had to work) and he went to see Timberlake's last show with Jay Z in Atlanta. Complete with photographs, He believes the band members hanging out together sparked the reunion rumors.
Bass also commented on his happiness that fans still get excited about 'NSYNC after all these years.
Listen to the entire excerpt of Bass addressing the reunion rumors below.
Fans who pay close attention to Bass' phrasing will not that while he didn't confirm the rumors of a reunion, he didn't deny them by any means either; he mostly just addressed how, in fact, people began talking about an 'NSYNC appearance at the VMAs.
Whether or not 'NSYNC will make a surprise appearance to help bring in Timberlake's award -- and whether or not that appearance sparks a performance -- the 2013 MTV VMAs will air this Sunday, Aug. 25 at 9 p.m. on MTV.
