Sara Bareilles' 'Brave' Sees Chart Surge Thanks To Katy Perry's Potential Copycat Single 'Roar' [VIDEOS]
While fans might be a bit miffed by the similarities between "Brave" and Katy Perry's "Roar", I doubt Sara Bareilles is complaining. The "Love Song" singer's new single shot up to number 46 from 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts following Katy's copycat controversy, an 80% increase in digital sales putting her end of week total at 51,000.
For the record, "Roar" came in at number two behind the seemingly unkillable "Blurred Lines." And Perry isn't the only factor that accounts for the chart jump. Experts also cite Bareilles' performance of the song with Taylor Swift in concert as a contributor to the single's surge.
(If you're wondering how Gaga faired in the charts battle with Perry, "Applause" came in at number six. Ouch. Maybe that flop talk was justified.)

Bareilles' The Blessed Unrest is out now. Katy Perry's Prism is forthcoming (but you can tweet for new songs now).
