'Star Wars 7' News, SPOILERS & Casting Rumors: Filming Starts January 21, 2014, December Release? Zachary Quinto Won't Star in 2015's 'Episode VII'
Reports are claiming that Star Wars: Episode VII, the highly anticipated movie directed by J.J. Abrams, will start filming on January 21, 2014. If this report is true, then earlier rumors of filming already starting this month in England have been proven wrong. Also, recent rumors concerning the films premiere being pushed to the end of 2015 could easily be true now that the production date has been revealed. Plus, if production starts in early 2014, casting announcements are sure to be coming up soon.
One actor who has said that he would not turn up in J.J. Abrams' new Star Wars movie is Star Trek Into Darkness star Zachary Quinto.
When asked if he was interested in a part or if he talked to Abrams about a role, Quinto said, "I don't think that that would be...I think that I would be attacked if I turned up in the Star Wars franchise."
"I was just with [J.J. Abrams] for an extended time in Japan; I imagine if he had any inklings toward that, he would have probably floated out," he said. "And I don't think I could do it, I really don't. And I don't think I would do it."
Quinto added: "I don't think [Abrams] would be interested in cross-pollinating in that way. We're going to be shooting our third movie probably - also don't quote me on this - sometime next year, so I imagine there would be some overlay and I wouldn't be able to do both anyway."
Episode VII is currently in pre-production with Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor rumored to return to the franchise and star in the film.
