Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special 2013 [PHOTO]: Companion Grace Holloway Returning for 'Explosive' November 23 Celebration Episode?
The 50th anniversary special of "Doctor Who," featuring the return of David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor alongside current Doctor Matt Smith, will be broadcasted simultaneously around the world on November 23, 2013. Production has wrapped and all we need now is a trailer for the highly anticipated episode. But what if a new casting rumor starting circulating despite filming being complete? Reports have been popping up mentioning former companion Grace Holloway (portrayed by Daphne Ashbrook) might be featured in the special!
According to Ashbrook, she is open to the possibility.
"Honestly, I don't know yet," she said when asked if she would be part of the special. "Waiting to hear more. I really do hope so."
If filming has indeed already wrapped, the odds of her having a part in the special are pretty slim.
Ashbrook played Holloway opposite the eighth Doctor (Paul McCann) in the Doctor Who movie. Check out what she recently said about her experience:
"I am always amazed at the divisiveness amongst 'Doctor Who' fans. 'The classic series vs. the new series,' 'kiss vs. no kiss,' 'Russell T. Davies vs. Steven Moffat.' The wonderful thing about 'Doctor Who,' in my humble opinion, is that it is ever changing. That's just built into it!" says Ashbrook regarding the controversy surrounding the "Doctor Who" TV movie.
"That's what keeps it alive. And as long as the 'stewards' of the show have love and sincerity about the show and its future, I'm on board."

Nicholas Briggs, the voice actor responsible for the iconic Dalek voices, recently revealed some new hints about the 50th anniversary special. Briggs will play a big role in the special since we know the Daleks return for battle (promo shot above)
"There were some big, big explosions," he said. "The biggest explosions I've ever seen on Doctor Who when they were shooting the bits with the Daleks. And I suddenly got a feeling of what it might be like to be in a warzone!"
