R. Kelly 'U.O.E.N.O. (Remix)', Pied Piper Tries His Hand At Controversial Rocko Song Prior To 'Black Panties' Release
R. Kelly never met a popular trend that he didn't want in on. That's why we find the R&B crooner and hitmaker dropping a questionable verse over Rocko's controversial track "U.O.E.N.O." Clearly, R is trying to build his early 2000s hip-hop cred back up prior to the release of his upcoming modern R&B-leaning album Black Panties.
Check it out below:
The remix is confusing for a number of reasons. It strangles Kelly's timeless vocals underneath enough layers of Auto-Tune to make him sound like recent collaborator Future. It's a track that is past the point that Kelly typically likes to star on remixes (namely, while people are still talking about the song). It mentions how R&B singers don't want beef with him, which flies in the face of an interview he did with MTV in July.
"You don't want R&B to get into beef," Kells said. "Leave that to the rappers. Let them do that. Let R&B be classy. That's for the ladies, and having the babies and having fun."
However, it does feature R. Kelly so there are a number of laughable/awesome lines that only R. Kelly could get away with. Still. I wish we had seen the Robert who can salvage a bad song, as opposed to dragging his feet for the course of an okay one.
