Jurassic Park 4: Dinosaur Sequel Gets New Title, Release Date
Jurassic Park 4 is finally starting to come together. The Colin Treverrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) directed film has a title and a release date. Jurassic World will hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
The film is being produced by original JP director Steven Speilberg and will get a 3D release. Beyond that, not much is known. Treverrow has tapped his Safety Not Guaranteed writer Derek Connelly to produce the script for a film whose initial release date was set for 2005.
Opting to release Jurassic World on June 12 officially makes that week one of the busiest in box office history (fitting for a sequel to a film that that once held the worldwide box office record). Star Wars: Episode VII, The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Independence Day 2 and Batman Vs. Superman are all slated for release around that date.
The last entry in the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic Park 3 was met with less-than-enthusiastic fan response but a 3D re-release of the first Jurassic Park brought in nearly $20M stateside, earlier this year.
