'Basketball Wives' Tami Roman [Exclusive Interview]: Talks Shaunie O'Neal, Reliving Her Mother's Death, And New Cosmetic Line 'TR Love'
Basketball Wives star, Tami Roman has stirred up the drama for the VH1 reality show and has been casted as the bully, however this season the reality star has truly opened her doors for the world to see her on one emotional rollercoaster. In an Exclusive interview with MSTARS News, Roman opened up about watching and reliving moments with her late mother, Nadine Buford (who lost her battle with cancer in July), controlling her violent temper, and concentrating on a successful career as a talk show host on Tiny Tonight as well as her new cosmetic line TR Love.
The vibrant reality star has come a long way since entering the television game widely known for her blazing fists, but this season she's far from "Tami Season 2" and her storyline is perhaps the most interesting one to watch.
With rumors of the Roman leaving the popular VH1 show, because of problems with cast member and the show's executive producer Shaunie O'Neal, she opened up about her relationship and where her friendship stands today, "Well coming into this situation, Shaunie was the only person I considered a friend, I didn't known any of the other girls -At all." She continued, "As far as I'm concerned, I have no problems with Shaunie- At all and I never had a problem with her, but I am going to speak my mind on things that bother me and I think she knows that."
Roman has opened up her personal life more this season, appearing on camera with her ill mother and two daughters, Jazz and Lyric, to discuss their family struggles on how to handle their granmother's living situation then. Although, the show was tapped from August to February of 2012 -before her mother died- she admitted that watching the scenes and reliving those times were tough.
The show was initially set to premiere in March and instead was pushed back to August - after her mother's passing in July- which made is harder to watch only after 2 months, "To see her on TV, it just makes me to have to relive those moments that I had learn to have to move past because now I'm in a situation where I'm grieving. So it's like my life is in rewind instead of trying to go forward and move on and honor my mother and her legacy and her memory. I'm having to relive moments that I have already got past."
Moving forward with her life, Roman is setting the bar high for other reality show stars and branding herself as a co-host on Tiny Tonight replacing singer, Tamar Braxton as well as launching her cosmetic line TR Love with Walgreens.
After seeing Tiny and rapper T.I. at an event in Charlotte, North Carolina, the reality star said they hit it off and she was chosen as Braxton's replacement because of her edginess, "I'm pretty outspoken and so they thought I'd be a great addition to the show in lieu of Tamar."
In addition to her new talk show venture, her cosmetic line, which she proudly admits is made in the U.S., takes pride in every color and detail every woman will wear once they get their hands on it. The outspoken reality star decided to name every unique color and gloss after her mother, daughters, role models, and close celebrity friends "There all name after women who are important to me in my life and over the course of my life there's glosses named after my daughters, after my best friend, after Cicely Tyson- Cicely my favorite actress," she added she even named one after "Keeping up with the Kardashian" star Khloe Kardashian, "I named one after her because I just think she's so amazing as an individual and a talent."
Clearly, Roman is paving her way for further success as an entrepreneur, reality star, talk show host, actress, and mother. Can somebody say Winnnninnnggg?
