Set to air Oct. 10, the episode synopsis has been revealed and the big finale number has been leaked as "Seasons of Love." One week before the episode premieres, Fox has announced the full setlist of songs that cast members of "Glee" will perform during the hour-long episode.
Check out the setlist for "The Quarterback" below from FOX (via Hypable).
"Seasons of Love," Rent
"I'll Stand By You," The Pretenders
"Fire and Rain," James Taylor
"If I Die Young," The Band Perry
"No Surrender," Bruce Springsteen
"Make You Feel My Love," Adele (Bob Dylan cover)
The specific cast members that will be performing each song have yet to be announced, but it's likely that Monteith's real life and on-screen girlfriend Lea Michele will perform "Make You Feel My Love." The entire cast of "Glee" will come together for "Seasons of Love."
Originally set to tackle to overdose death of Monteith head-on, "Glee" creator decided to take the tribute episode a different direction. The show will focus not on how Monteith (or his character Finn Hudson) died but will instead show how the characters cope with the sudden loss and will pay tribute to the actor and his character.
"Glee" cast member Jane Lynch -- who paid tribute to Monteith at the 2013 Emmys -- called the script "beautiful" on Twitter.
As mentioned, "The Quarterback" will air on Oct. 10. According to Hypable, fans will be able to buy the "Glee" renditions of these songs on iTunes Oct. 15.
Cory Monteith died in July at the age of 31 due to an overdose of alcohol and heroin. The troubled rising star played jock turned gleek, Finn Hudson, on "Glee" for four years before his death.
