Want to see a pretty interesting piece of music history? Dangerous Minds has you covered. At their site, you can see pictures of receipts for gear bought by Jimi Hendrix from the legendary/ sadly defunct NYC shop Manny's Music.

Hendrix visited the store three times, with purchases totalling $484.42, $1756.30 and $275.60, respectively. If you're curious that's around $3000, $11,000 and $1600 in today's dollars.

All together, Hendrix purchased a Fender Twin Reverb amplifier,a ratchet, two pairs of mallets, bass strings, an Epiphone Casino, a Gibson Les Paul, guitar strings, cables, cords, a Fender Stratocaster, an Echolex pedal and one of the first commercially available guitar synthesizers, the Condor GSM Innovex.

I wonder how much they spent on gear for the potential Jackie Jormp Jormp that is Andre 3000's Hendrix film?
