Mstars recently reported on Gomez's song "Come and Get it" getting slammed by breakout sensation Lorde. Apparently the "Royals" singer doesn't like the lyrics to the smash hit off of Selena's latest album, Stars Dance. Here is an excerpt from the article:

"Royals" singer Lorde may be the next big thing in pop, but that doesn't mean she is always going to love her peers. In a recent interview (via TheGrapeJuice.net), Lorde had some choice words about former Disney star Selena Gomez and her recent "Stars Dance" single "Come & Get It."

"I love pop music on a sonic level, but I'm a feminist and the theme of her song ["Come & Get It"] is, 'When you're ready, come and get it from me.' I'm sick of women being portrayed this way," said Lorde.

Lorde may have a valid point about the lyrics to "Come & Get It." Lines like "You ain't gotta worry, it's an open invitation / I'll be sitting right here, real patient / All day, all night, I'll be waiting standby," don't particularly encourage women to be active in pursuing a relationship, which reinforces old-fashioned gender roles.
