The eclectic trio The Tins performed at Pianos in NYC's iconic Lower East Side earlier this month, showcasing the band's multifaceted sound that's currently garnering widespread buzz on the net. Mike Santillo's harmonic vocals combined with Adam Putzer's acid jazz guitar riffs and Dave Muntner's rhythmic drum tempos make for a unique lyrical beat that embraces a slew of genre "trademarks." It's not a sound fans can specifically associate with anything they've heard before, which makes it all the more curious and intriguing.

The Tins' insightful hit tune "Green Room" embodies elements of modern indie rock and New Wave sprinkled with catchy, head-swaying beats throughout. The powerfully diverse seven-minute "epic" already garnered more than 1.5 million views-and-counting on Spotify. Performed live, "Green Room" offers even more of an eerily beautiful feel with Putzer's resonating guitar licks and Santillo's raw yet perfected vocals:

The Tins' debut full-length album Life's a Gas (released in May 2012) was written with help from New York-based producer Joe Blaney. You can hear a bit of Modest Mouse influences throughout the record, along with (less heavy) doses of Wolf Parade and Divine Fits (just to name a few):

The Tins kept the Pianos crowd captivated for an hour-long set, infiltrating the room with balanced instrumental precision and grace. The Buffalo, NY natives aren't touring right now - they're currently focused on getting out some new music. But if they ever pass by your area, it's highly recommended to go check them out.

Check out more of The Tins' music on Spotify and Facebook. The band plans on releasing a new EP sometime in early 2014, followed by another full-length album.
