Diddy Tops Forbes' Hip-Hop Earnings List, Talks Giving Back [VIDEO]
Diddy recently topped Forbes' list of the highest-earning people in hip-hop. The mogul behind Bad Boy Entertainment, Cirroc vodka, Making The Band, Revolt TV and Sean John clothing has an estimated worth of $580 million and earned $50 million in the last year.
The man projecte to be Hip-hop's first ever billionaire took the opportunity to say something that only rich men can afford to say, that the money isn't all that important to him.
"I can't deny how humbling and how proud I am to be from Harlem, New York, to be from the inner-city and be on the FORBES list," Combs says. "But it doesn't define me."
However, before we go getting angry at the mogul formerly known as Puff Daddy, he clarified that the achievement he is most proud of is giving back to his community.
"Another thing about being number one on the list is that I openly accept the responsibility that comes with that. That economic power gives me the opportunity to give back," he said. "Employing 1000 people is more satisfying than wealth alone."
Diddy's latest venture, Revolt TV, is scheduled to go live later this month. If it goes as planned the man who once dressed as Blade and rapped over Led Zeppelin's "Kashimir" while Godzilla destroyed New York City around him will join the rarified air of America's 400-plus billionaires.
NEVER FORGET.
