Watch William Shatner's latest music video, the first off of his upcoming album Ponder the Mystery, right here:

"I sort of lurched into a method of writing everything that comes into my head, just spewing it out," the 82-year-old performer said about his new album. "Then along the way, I would discover a phrase, an attitude or a word that resonates, that captures what it is I think I'm writing about. I use that word, that phrase, that line to become the entity of the song."

Clearly Shatner didn't shy away from this process in this new song. Check out some lines from this song:

"The stiff neck of arrogance, and the bent bow of humilty."

"The details of the devil, and the angelic purity."

"The harshness of reality, and the luxury of fantasy."

"The miracle of passion, and the hate of depravity."

"Death's finality and life's absurdity."
