Lauryn Hill Pens 'Thank You' Letter After Release From Prison
Lauryn Hill was recently released from prison. And she's certainly been keeping busy. First, she released a new song called "Consumerism." Then, she petitioned a judge to postpone her three months of house arrest so that she could go on tour (and it looks like she will get it). Now, much in the same way that she did before going to prison, the ex-Fugee has penned an open letter thanking fans, friends and family for their support during her incarceration. Check it out up top.
"I want to thank everyone who wrote letters and sent packages and books," wrote Hill. "Because of you there was not one day that I didn't receive mail while I was away."
Hill claims that the letters helped her get through her prison stint after being convicted on charges of tax evasion.
"Know that many of your letters not only touched me, but continued to confirm for me what I already knew but needed to hear again: that sincere expression has a serious purpose," she said.
What do you think of Lauryn Hill's open letter? Isn't it nice to see an open letter that isn't a snarky, passive-aggressive mess?
