'Breaking Bad' Prequel Spinoff, Vince Gilligan Spoilers [VIDEO]: Walter White Cameo Could Happen Despite Season 5 Ending? 'Sky's the Limit'
AMC's hit series Breaking Bad wrapped up last month with record-breaking numbers, leaving fans itching for the recently announced spinoff series. Creator Vince Gilligan this week sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to drop some hints on the prequel series that will hopefully go into production sometime soon. He even hinted at returning characters and more!
The spinoff series will focus on actor Bob Odenkirk's character from the original series, Saul Goodman. Despite the original show's serious nature, Gilligan says this spinoff will be funny in nature as we explore the origins of Saul.
"We've only seen Saul in his professional habitat. It will be interesting to see a more personal, intimate side of Saul Goodman," Gilligan said.
"The sky's the limit with a prequel," he explained. "Everybody who's now deceased in the Breaking Bad world is obviously still alive. You never know who might turn up and when and where."
As fans of Breaking Bad know, this of course means that plenty of since deceased characters are available for this new series. In fact, he explained that Walter White could easily make a cameo! Actor Bryan Cranston has shown interest in returning for the spinoff. Maybe he wants to slip back into his infamous tighty-whiteys one more time?
Gilligan also mentioned that Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) has shown interest in a cameo.
Another character that could easily return, and possibly have a more important role, would be the private detective Mike (Jonathan Banks).
"I could definitely see a version of this where Mike Ehrmantraut is an important part of this series," Gilligan teased.
Are you excited about these characters potentially returning?
