Tyga, Justin Bieber Release New Song 'Wait for a Minute': Track from 'Rack City' Rapper Feels More Like Release from 'Hold Tight' Crooner [REVIEW]
#MusicTuesday? The second Justin Bieber song of the week has dropped. Following the release of "Hold Tight" yesterday (Oct. 21), Bieber and Tyga released "Wait for a Minute," a sizzling new rap track that features the teenage heartthrob wandering into new territory.
Containing a stripped-down, quiet and repetitive beat similar to Tyga's smash 2011 hit "Rack City" and, of course, the classic Ying Yang Twins' "Wait (The Whisper Song)," "Wait for a Minute" creeps and crawls deep into the listener's bones.
Growls and whispers from the California rapper decorate the first verse while Bieber takes the driver's seat in the first verse. Though his latest releases from his Music Mondays have shown great vocal strides from Bieber, "Wait for a Minute" finds him back in his old school territory. Though he begins by whisper-singing, matching the quiet beats' subtle setting, he eventually begins reaching high notes and sounding rather whiney in the chorus.
Tyga comes in with previously unheard power in the second verse, rapping louder than Bieber's turn at the verse.
Though billed as Tyga featuring Justin Bieber, "Wait for a Minute" actually features vocal turns from the Biebz far more than Tyga, making it curious as to who is helping whom out on the track. Of course, teaming up with the musical powerhouse that is Bieber will ensure a home run for Tyga, he actually gets lost in the music, making the whole thing a confusing product.

"Wait for a Minute" is the fourth song to be released by Justin Bieber this month, though it is the first to be independent from his Music Mondays/music journals project. Meanwhile, the track is the first new single from Tyga's upcoming record The Gold Album.
