Ariana Grande Instagram shows off impressive whistle register; 'Right There' singer posts practice video along to her own 'Yours Truly' single 'The Way' [WATCH]
Just in case you were wondering, Ariana Grande is incredibly talented. The rising R&B/pop singer, who released her sparkling debut album Yours Truly in September, proved that she has quite the vocal range in a new Instagram video.
Singing along to her own top 10 hit "The Way," Grande showed off her whistle register in a short video.
"So squeaky I apologize but I was vocalizing before bed and got excited because my whistle register is getting stronger than before :) I probably won't use those notes too often but just good to know they're healthy and it's a fun tool to have. Always practicing," she captioned the video.
Indeed, the notes do sound "healthy" and strong. Singing note-to-note along with "The Way," Grande also threw in a few extra high register notes for kicks during her practice.
Check out Grande's practice video below:
The whistle register, which Grande is demonstrating here on Instagram, is the highest register for the human voice, coming in above even falsetto vocals. Perhaps best demonstrated by Mariah Carey (whom Grande is frequently compared to), the impressive range helps to decorate pop and R&B music.
Luckily for Arianators, a short practice video won't be the only thing from Ariana Grande to hit the web this week. The music video for the third Yours Truly single "Right There" is set to premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
