My Chemical Romance greatest hits album due out January 2014, following rumors of new music, frontman Gerard Way confirms best-of release [PHOTO]
A sort of new release from popular alternative rock band My Chemical Romance is on its way in January 2014. Following a confusing post on Hits Daily Double, which listed a vague new album from the disbanded "Helena" group, Alternative Press confirmed that that a greatest-hits album will come out in the new year.
The vague album listing -- which has since been removed from Hits Daily Double but can be seen in a screen cap on PropertyofZack.com - teased that a "TBD" album from MCR would hit shelves on Jan. 21, 2014, igniting passion and excitement in the band's notably enthusiastic fanbase. That's where Alternative Press stepped in to debunk the new material rumors.
In addition to the greatest hits confirmation from MCR's camp, the band's former frontman and current comic book artist Gerard Way addressed the rumors on Twitter.
"please address these rumors of a January release of a MCR album or sown [sic] thing listed on some website," Twitter user @handsandfacesx asked Way, who then confirmed the best-of album. "The release is a Greatest Hits Warner Bros is putting out. I am designing the packaging," he tweeted alongside photo evidence of his art.

My Chemical Romance broke up in March of this year after 12 years together as a band and four studio album, the last of which, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, came out in 2010. The band's final release before their break up was a series of singles called Conventional Weapons, which dropped right before their end.
