Thor 2 The Dark World Leads Into Episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has obviously had connections to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its characters (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, etc.) in its first few episodes, but an upcoming November episode will provide the most solid connection yet.
EW.com reports that the Nov. 19 episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., entitled "The Well," will pick up where Thor: The Dark World, which hits theaters in the United States on Nov. 8, leaves off. Here is the official description of the episode:
"In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel's Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces, one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team."
Jonathan Frakes, best known as Commander William T. Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation, directed the episode. He has worked on a Joss Whedon franchise before, as he once directed an episode of Dollhouse.
Numerous guest stars have been confirmed for the episode, but none of them are from Thor 2. It is unlikely that Marvel and ABC would keep, say, Chris Hemsworth's presence on the show a secret because a superhero guest star would likely mean a huge ratings boost, so do not expect any surprise appearances.
Here are the confirmed guest stars:
Peter MacNicol as Professor Elliot Randolph, Michael Graziadei as Jakob Nystrom, Erin Way as Petra Larsen, Toby Wilson as Neils, Alex Neustaedter as Maynard and Sylvia Brindis as Elena.
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs at 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesdays on ABC.
