M.I.A. documentary back on track with assistance of BRITDOC

The long-awaited M.I.A. documentary is finally back on track, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The inside-look at the Matangi rapper was set to be a companion piece to her new album, but got derailed when director Steve Loveridge bailed on the project in July.

He apparently had a change of heart though because the director, who grew up alongside the "Bad Girls" singer, is back at the helm and piecing together archival footage of the controversial artist.

The film has also recieved a boost with the backing of BRITDOC, the non-profit documentary support organization behind film's like Hell and Back Again.

M.I.A. is currently in a legal battle with the NFL over an obscene gesture she made during a Super Bowl halftime performance (she recently claimed it was a religious symbol) and is touring to support Matangi.
