In Theaters This Week: 'Thor 2: The Dark World,' 'The Book Thief' and 'Hunger Games' spoof 'The Starving Games' hit the big screen this weekend!
The week is coming to an end and it's that time again to get ready for some weekend movie theater planning! Now the question is, "What movies, old and new, are in theaters?" Luckily for you, we compiled a list of movies coming out and movies still in theaters for this weekend!
Probably the biggest movie coming out this weekend is Thor: The Dark World. This sequel to the demigod Marvel character story from 2011 invites fans back into the universe of super powers and galactic wars. Chris Hemsworth stars as Thor opposite Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, and Tom Hiddleston, who reprises his role of The Avengers villain, Loki. This fall blockbuster is expecting to break the box office in ticket sales, so we'll have to see if that happens next week

Besides this huge Marvel movie, there aren't that many other big films coming out this weekend. The Book Thief, How I Live Now, and Great Expectations are in theaters, but the focus is clearly on the superhero flick.
An interesting release would have to be the Hunger Games spoof movie, The Starving Games. With the slogan, "All the laughs, Half the calories," audiences should know right away that this farce film is just another Scary Movie-esque comedy. Get ready for a lot of flatulence jokes!

Perhaps one of the bigger documentaries coming out this year will hit theaters tomorrow. The Armstrong Lie examines the controversy surrounding ex-champion bicyclist Lance Armstrong and his doping issues.
