'World of Warcraft' Movie Update: 'Warcraft' director Duncan Jones reveals story and plot points for Blizzard video game adaptation

Director Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) is currently working on pre-production for the adventurous film adaptation of World of Warcraft, the popular Blizzard video game that has caused plenty of trouble for previous movie projects in the past. The talented director is apparently moving in the right direction with the project by focusing the story on both sides of the battle story. Let's just hope that his film (entitled Warcraft) can keep gamers happy while still making a box office impact.

According to Jones, the original script was too focused on the Human and Alliance characters, without enough Orc story to it. He has since made some revisions.

"It's about both sides," he said. "It's going to be red and blue."

The young director also explained the script's focus is on "the story of Anduin Lothar versus Durotan, Human and Orc heroes from the original real-time strategy games."

"It's been hard to find an actor who looks like Durotan," Jones said of the casting process for Warcraft. "Every time I meet an actor I just try to squish his face."

Clearly the Orc characters will be the hardest to cast, but Jones is sure to make the right decision when it comes down to it.

Special effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer, a fan of the World of Warcraft series since 2004, said, "the swords that are being built [for the film] are the biggest swords a human being can wield."

That is definitely something to look forward to! Click HERE for some concept art!

Jones' previous films received plenty of acclaim over the years, so seeing him take on such a different project is incredibly interesting to say the least. Are you excited for Warcraft?
