Watch Samuel L. Jackson tell David Letterman he's desperate for a 'Star Wars Episode VII' casting return as Mace Windu on 'Late Show' [VIDEO]

Samuel L. Jackson is one of the biggest names in Hollywood, but it turns out even he has trouble getting certain parts in certain films. To be fair, this time he's asking for a former character of his to pretty much come back from the dead. We're talking about Star Wars Episode VII of course and Jackson wants to light up his purple lightsaber again as Mace Windu (who was apparently killed off in Revenge of the Sith). So last night when he was asked about the project on The Late Show with David Letterman, Jackson explained how he still wants to be involved and that other former stars have yet to be contacted.

Jackson's interview with Letterman turned to this Star Wars discussion when Dave inquired whether the actor knew anything about the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie set for 2015. The Oldboy actor informs the host that he has yet to be contacted and seems legitimately saddened when telling the story.

He also spoke about running into Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) who was also not contacted for this new movie. The same goes for Ewan McGregor (Obi Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy). It looks like we won't be seeing these three actors in the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII film.

Letterman then suggests that these three actors left out of Abrams' new movie should try to make their own version of a Star Wars film. How do you think that would turn out?
