After years of development and filming, we have our first look at director Darren Aronofsky's epic film Noah, based on one of the biggest biblical stories known the world over. The film stars Russell Crowe as the title character alongside Jennifer Connelly as his wife. Ray Winstone plays the film's antagonist and Emma Watson is also a supporting actor for this epic.

Aronofsky took on quite the task in trying to adapt a bible story for a mainstream blockbuster, but the director is confident that his take will please audiences. He based this adaptation on the comic book series of the same name that involved "eleven-foot-tall fallen angels with six arms and no wings." Interestingly enough, the bible actually refers to these angels as Nephilim.

So we'll get to see just how crazy this film gets in terms of staying true to the comic (which Aronofsky co-created).

Here is a synopsis of the source material for this movie:

His name is Noah. Far from the stereotype of the patriarch that one appends the character of the Bible, he looked like a warrior. He looks like a Mad Max out of the depths of time. In the world of Noah, pity has no place. He lives with his wife and three children in a land barren and hostile, in the grip of severe drought. A world marked by violence and barbarism, delivered to the savagery of the clans that draw their reason to survive from war and cruelty.
