Game of Thrones Casts Octavia Alexandru as Major Season 4 Character [SPOILERS]
The HBO hit Game of Thrones has cast another important character for its upcoming Season 4, and fans now know the identity of the character thanks to a simple résumé update.
[WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD]
Octavia Alexandru's modeling résumé has been updated with the information that she will portray the Child of the Forest, who appears in the fifth novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin on which Game of Thrones is based. In the book, the Children of the Forest are a legendary people in Westeros and appear to be youthful but are in fact incredibly old.
Alexandru's agency's web page first posted the news of her casting back in July, and many began to speculate that she would portray the Child of the Forest. The site WinterIsComing.net went a step further and theorized that she would play Leaf rom A Dance With Dragons, and this latest news seems to indicate that she would be playing some approximation of that character. As the site points out, "the timing is right, with the Three-Eyed Raven popping up next year as well."
British actor Struan Rodger has joined the show as a major character in Bran's story arc, according toZap2It. The character is introduced in the fifth novel, entitled A Dance With Dragons.
Rodger's online résumé lists the character as "Three-Eyed Raven" and hints at appearances in multiple episodes. A three-eyed raven appeared in Bran's visions earlier in the series in animal form, so it seems likely that Rodger's character will be the human form of the animal to whom Jojen and Meera are currently taking Bran in the show.
