Britney Spears 'Alien' demo leaks before 'Britney Jean' release: LISTEN to funky new song before Dec. 3 release date
Britney Spears' eighth studio album Britney Jean is only a little more than two weeks away, which means that the leaks are about to start rolling out. The first premature song from the record has already hit the Internet in demo form, and now an early version of "Alien" is available for all fans to hear.
Spears collaborated with producer William Orbit on the track, who took to his Twitter account to explain the version online is not the final product, stating the end result is far more dynamic than the leak. "It's the wrong version of 'Alien' that's out there. Right song, but had wrong chorus notes, (now fixed) on THE version," he wrote before quoting the chorus' lyrics, proving that he's proud of his work regardless.
Indeed, the final version of "Alien" could use some sprucing up in the chorus. The track is a crawling, funky mid-tempo anthem, with a beat so infectious, it's hard not to get it stuck in your head. Spears' vocals, however, tend to stay within the same few notes. While she's not particularly known for her strong voice, Spears is far more capable than the turnout on "Alien."
It's unknown how the leak will effect the rollout of Britney Jean, but it's likely that fans won't hear the final version of "Alien" until the album officially drops.
