Jim Belushi says his son Robert should play John Belushi in new movie biopic, disagreeing with Emile Hirsch casting news
Earlier this month a new movie based on the life and death of John Belushi was announced with director Steve Conrad attached to the project. About a week after this announcement, Emile Hirsch was cast in the lead role of the biopic and now it has moved into pre-production. Well just this week, the late Belushi's brother, Jim, announced to TMZ that he doesn't agree with the casting choice of Hirsch and that his son Robert should star instead.
Hirsch beat out other actors rumored to be in talks for the role including Workaholics star Adam Devine and Joaquin
The surviving Belushi brother insists that his son, Robert, would be an exceptional choice for the film (despite already casting Hirsch) because he's "33, the same age that John passed away at, and he looks like him."
Not to demean Robert's acting abilities in any way, but Hirsch is a well-rounded performer with a long list of successful and critically acclaimed films. He seems like the right choice over a young, unknown actor even if that person happens to be the nephew of the character.

Do you think Robert should at least be a little involved in the film? It couldn't hurt to get the young actor into the project in some way considering he's family.
