It looks as though Winona Ryder might be on board for the sequel Beetlejuice 2, the follow up of Tim Burton's pleasantly twisted 1988 comedy.

The actress told The Daily Beast in a recent interview: "I'm kind of sworn to secrecy," Ryder said. "But it sounds like it might be happening."

Well that might be stretching the meaning of secrecy, but no complaints! Last month news about Burton and the Michael Keaton discussing the project sparked rumors of the second film. No matter what it seems like the movie will be happening, we just don't know when yet or who for sure will be starring. It would be pretty crazy if anyone else played Ryder's role, though.

The new script was apparently written by Seth Grahame-Smith, the author of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer and also the script for Burton's film Dark Shadows. Beetlejuice 2 is said to take place and takes place a few decades after the original.

The Daily Beast discussed the new film with Ryder and took a look back on her time in the original.

"It's not a remake," Ryder said. "It's 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia [Ryder's teenage character] so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later. That's one of those movies where little kids stop me. I'm so associated with it. I think it gave me my career. I was such a weird looking kid."

We'll just have to see what happens as the plans progress.
