Say it ain't so, did Akon really refuse "dark skinned," ladies from his new music video in Accra? Wait isn't Akon "dark skinned," himself?

It seems Akon and WizKid think the lighter the better for more attention. Allegations that the two refused dark-skinned girls from appearing in a music video in Ghana, has seemed to put the singers in deep water. They requested for mixed-race ladies, in other words,"light-skinned ladies."

According to Bossip, a model reported on the day of the shoot some girls were turned away as the agent, director (or the man responsible for calling them) informed them that "they now want half-cast girls." This term is used to describe girls with mixed heritage, usually ones with white blood in them. "THEY," most likely referring to WizKid, Akon and/or his music video producer, turning away a fleet of arrivals originally requested to attend by the model scout. In fact, the agent requested if the girls could help him seek light skinned girls because 'THEY' were so adamant on this request even on late notice.

WizKid is a native of Nigeria, and Akon is from Senegal. This seems to be the norm in the two music stars countries, because both are flooded with girls bleaching their skin because of rejection and discrimination if they are dark.

Do you find their requests unacceptable? Are they wrong for choosing only light-skinned women to portray what media already encourages?
